Animal Emergency Hospital Launceston (AEH) is an out-of-hours emergency hospital for animal patients in Northern Tasmania. Because we know that when it comes to accidents and emergencies they don’t always happen between 9-5.
Appointments are not necessary as our experienced Emergency and Critical Care service operates continuously for unexpected out-of-hours problems and critically unwell patients.

Do I need to call ahead?
We encourage all clients to call ahead, as this allows us to prepare for critical patients before they arrive and ensure we can give advice on potential wait times for non-critical patients.

What information do I need to provide about my pets condition?
It’s a stressful time when your pet is unwell and we don’t expect you to have all the answers (that’s what we are here for!). We will ask you some basic questions to ascertain what your concerns are. This is important as there are some specific conditions where we need pet owners to begin first aid at home before driving to us.

What is the cost to visit AEH?
Costs depend on the circumstance so it’s hard to give a ballpark until we know what the emergency is. Because of this clients will be advised on a case-by-case basis of the cost of a consultation plus our payment policy when calling ahead or on arrival at our practice.
